Final Reflection

As this course comes to a close I am asked to reflect back upon what went well, what was learned, and maybe what I might need some more fine-tuning.  I really enjoyed learning/refreshing my basic navigation knowledge of the "new" standard of technology.  As I received and implemented my Promethean Board into my classroom I was also taking this course, therefore I was glad to combine the two.  Overall, my navigation of all resources and feeling confident in how to accomplish things via technology on my own is very empowering and beneficial as an educator.  I would like to spend more time building these tools into my established lessons as a teaching resource and as a learning/assessment  piece for my students.

Assignment #1

Hi-
My name is Jessica.  I am married with two kids and have been teaching within Ronan School District since 2008. Prior to teaching I worked/lived in Bozeman for 10 years, worked on campaigns, pharmacy technician, you name it I've worked there! Deep down I am still a Bobcat and am having a hard time with the "alliance" shift!=)
I started out teaching in a technology lab (Smartlab) for 1.5 years and then Social Studies/NAS/Current Events since.  I am a graduate student and am on track to graduate in June 2013.  I am hoping to learn how to utilize some of the "trendy" technology so that I can incorporate it into my teaching.  I am pretty comfortable and knowledgeable with everyday technology, but haven't stepped too far out of my comfort zone in a while.
